Fans of comic books and creativity, here’s your chance to catch comic artists from Malaysia’s Gilamon Studio, including Julian “Lefty” Kam and Eisner Award-winning artist Tan Eng Huat in the flesh! The artists will be making a special appearance at Books Kinokuniya on Saturday, 20th August 2011 at 3.30 p.m.!

Lefty has been working in the comic industry as an editor and art director for more than ten years. He started Gilamon Studio – an independent comics production studio – with two artist friends, Chin Sau Lim and Michael Chuah, to focus on developing their own intellectual properties. Lefty is also the co-creator of the Major Zombie comic book series.

Having worked for DC and Marvel Comics, Tan Eng Huat’s works include The Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider, The Punisher and the recently launched Thor: First Thunder. His work received international recognition when he won the 5th Comic Nation Award in 2002 in England for Best New Talent, as well as the prestigious Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award in 2002 at the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. He first collaborated with Lefty on Major Zombie: Love & Loss, and has also contributed a cover for the latest Major Zombie graphic novel Major Zombie: The Blood Trail.
