Following from her first picture book titled An Alphabet Zoo: Phonemic Adventure with Rainbow Bear, Julia Gabriel, who is well known for her contribution to literacy and the arts in Singapore, has since then created a second picture book titled Rainbow Bear's Dinosaur Discovery: An Adventure in Blends and Digraphs.

In this second reading adventure, Rainbow Bear, the lovable bear who wants to learn to read, discovers the dinosaurs that help him learn sound blending – the ability to build words from individual sounds by blending the sounds together in sequence, as well as digraphs – a combination of two letters or characters used to represent a single speech sound. The book is also made more interesting as the text at the bottom of the pages contain challenging tongue twisters. Rainbow Bear's Dinosaur Discovery: An Adventure in Blends and Digraphs is the perfect book for young children as they journey towards fluent reading.
