12th March 2011 (Saturday)
2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.
Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store, Crossroads
Books Kinokuniya was delighted to be the first bookstore in Singapore to host Neil Humphreys, author of the bestseller Notes From An Even Smaller Island , for a Meet-The-Author session to promote his latest offering, Premier Leech.

Neil Humphreys entertained his fans with his wit and humorous remarks as he spoke in a friendly and colloquial manner, relating his experiences of coming up with the concept for the book through his observations of recent sensational news relating to English football. The author’s fans who turned up for the event also exuded as much vibrancy as him. They comprised of a diversity of people ranging from locals to a retired Australian who had worked in the United Kingdom as an immigration officer, to Britons as well as Russians. With this interesting mixture of fans, it was not a surprise to see the author being engaged in a friendly banter with them throughout the event. Being a good sport, Neil Humphreys also candidly offered to give away his copy of Premier Leech to the retired Australian immigration officer who posted the first question to him, much to the delight of his other fans.

Neil Humphreys's approachable and friendly nature as well as his warm interaction with customers has certainly left a good impression on them. As such, this has also influenced them to purchase his other book titles to show their appreciation and support towards him. This event certainly appeared like a reunion between the author and his fans in the familiar setting of our bookstore.
