POST-EVENT REPORT: Cooking Made Easy With Periplus

Customers were in for a treat when Periplus Publishing presented a cooking demonstration on Arabian and Asian dishes at Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store to kick-start the preparations for this year’s year-end festivities.

The cooking demonstrator started off the event by showing the audience how to make two appetizers; Orange and Olive Salad from The Arabian Nights Cookbook and Sautéed Potatoes with Onion from Entice With Spice. This was followed by a main dish, Thai-Style Chicken in Sweet Chilli Sauce from the Steamy Kitchen Cookbook and a dessert, Banana and Sago Pudding from Southeast Asia's Best Recipes to end the demonstration on a sweet note.

During the event, the cooking demonstrator practiced good hygiene while handling the food, and encouraged customers to do the same. He also spontaneously answered questions from the audience along the way while demonstrating the cooking steps. Customers were given the chance to sample the tasty dishes after each was done, and many of them were inspired to try and cook the food that was featured on their own. The success of this cooking demonstration has definitely stirred customers’ interest in flipping through the cookbooks and purchasing them.
